Same thing applies to this picture as the last one I posted- Not an original character and it was in the same book (How To Draw Manga Vol. I). I did not use step-by-step instructions as they were not available. But the image was redrawn from the book by me for practice.
Here I learned a lot about creases and shading. I ended up having to erase a lot when shadows looked way off. I feel I should focus on improving shades and creases for future pictures I try to draw. I'll also start applying what I'm learning into original pictures.
This is the first sketch I'm posting. I'm not posting drawings because I think they're any good when compared to others. I'm just posting them because they're the best to MY ability (which isn't much :() and maybe get some tips for the future. Here it is:
Unfortunately, the original character, along with various others, was used to display various facial expressions. Thus, there was no "step-by-step" process which tends to make it much easier for people like me.
Anyway, I'll try to create some original sketches and illustrations in the future. But since it didn't look as rough when compared to my other attempts at drawing, I decided to post this.
Any tips or suggestions that can help me out? I'd really appreciate it!
I ran across a short but pretty cool article a while back. It contained this photo:
Are these photos of angels or another supernatural phenomenon? The blog, which can be found here, explains that these are just insects, a couple of feet away from the camera. The camera flash reflects off the insect.Though it's somewhat obvious, I still thought it was a cool trick. There are tons more of these simple tricks that can easily be learned and I find them interesting to know about.
I'm not great when it comes to certain types of design. For example, drawing detailed images on paper. So, I started practicing. I'm learning different styles, shading, etc. Ultimately, it may benefit me after lots and lots of practice, because as of now it takes me much longer than it should to produce certain images (if I can even manage creating them).
I'm also taking an essential look at 3D Design. I decided to try and learn a bit about that, and maybe continue learning more complex designs in the future. I've heard Vue is a nice application to try out for some types of 3D Design. There are some YouTube videos displaying what can be made. Here's one:
Maybe I'll upload something in the future that displays what I've managed to learn. But in no way am I guaranteeing it will be any good :O
It seems like so much is thrown at you at once (at least from my what I'm used to). I really don't try to consider it a bad thing (but it would be nice to get a break). My time management and organization skills aren't nearly as bad as they were a couple of months ago. Plus it seems many say it will help with getting through college.
So, onward with applying!
Also, I do intend to post more often in the future. Honestly, I was surprised when I first started using Vox. I never really thought any of my stuff would be read and commented on. But it seems Vox is a large community where many of us can read on what interests and relates to us.
I won't always be right when I say something. I'm not going to try to be right all the time. If I'm wrong or if you disagree, feel free to state so. Just a little heads up for any potential consistent readers. :)
Wow it's been a while. Well this long experience did teach me one thing - I really have to incorporate time management into my life. It's something many have probably learned at a much earlier age than I have, but I've always been the type who did everything without time management (for example put all my focus into one thing while putting other things aside).
Well anyway, I guess that's part of getting ready for college. I have some photos from my trip to Gettysburg. I'll post more up soon since I have quite a few here.
These are some photos of the forest area and cabin itself. The bench in the middle was actually out in the middle of the forest. Same goes for most of the other places. The fallen trees, leaves, etc. My other photos also have shots of the forest at night.
Just a little notice from my end. For the past 3 days we've been working to get the server upgraded and a nice smooth transfer complete without losing any data. We (those of us who've worked to transfer data, files, etc.) were successful.
Check out the new http://www.globide.com - doesn't look different but we're working on that ;)
The server is running smoothly, so no one should time out. Everything should run nicely. There was just too much load on the old server (which is a good thing in a way). Anyway, the new server should be able to handle a lot more traffic!
I went to New York a couple of days ago, and managed to take several pictures. It was only for a day and we walked around seeing some sights for a bit. Some of you may know that I was originally born in New York, and lived there for only two years.
Here's a photo:
A group of us here on my end plan to get together occasionally and seek out evidence of strange phenomena. Our ghost hunt structure is this:
Try to associate a logical explanation for all potential evidence. If any is leftover and cannot be explained, keep it as evidence and then put it out there for others' opinions, views, etc.
We are at the moment setting procedures and standards for our investigations. These standards will apply for any potential "evidence" that may arise. For example, a clear sounding message in an EVP recording can be kept as something logically unexplainable (after ruling out things like stray radio signals, old cassette recordings, etc.), while an unclear recording can be ignored simply because it may not prove anything.
We want to try and see if we can find anything truly mysterious in our investigations. We are not debunkers, but in order to give more credibility to the paranormal community, I feel it is important to have strict standards in investigations.
The group went on a test run just to get the "feel" of investigations. We were a lenient when it came to scanning the recordings, looking at photos, etc.
EVPs on the left, Possible explanation on the right:
http://www.globide.com/byronsanchez/ghosthunts/evp1.mp3 - Possibly breathing
http://www.globide.com/byronsanchez/ghosthunts/evp2.mp3 - Unknown
http://www.globide.com/byronsanchez/ghosthunts/evp3.mp3 - Voice doesn't sound familiar - Maybe someone talking
http://www.globide.com/byronsanchez/ghosthunts/evp4.mp3 - Maybe someone talking
http://www.globide.com/byronsanchez/ghosthunts/evp5.mp3 - Maybe background talking
EVP #2 seemed to be the only mysterious recording (but for the standards we set so far after this investigation, it is not good enough). The rest are pretty explainable. Though our goal is to see if a mysterious voice can be captured. A voice of somebody who is not there. Will we get something in the future? Who knows?
